Prompt: My heart pounded wildly.
My heart pounded wildly, keeping time with my feet slapping the wet pavement. I heard the heavy breathing, the sounds of chase.
The monster grew closer.
I stumbled on cracked sidewalk. I wanted to scream for help, but instead gasped for air.
Just a little further. I saw my house, the cheerful yellow front door. I reached out, fumbling with the latch on the front gate.
There was a yipand tiny teeth grabbed onto my pant leg. Another yip as the Chihuahua jumped up, panting. Wanting to lick my face. Cover me in germs.
The monster had caught me.
See what the others had to say!
