Wonhundred Word Wednesday

Prompt: In all the years I’ve lived here, I never once called this place my home

In all the years I’ve lived here, I have never once called this place home. I can’t grow attached. I can’t forget my mission.
I log onto my husband Dave’s computer, locating and emailing the incriminating files. Some call Dave a revolutionary. The government I work for call him a terrorist. As soon as I get them enough information, they’ll arrest him. Probably execute him.
I log off the computer, leaving no trace. I am reading a book when Dave gets home.
“How was your day?” he asks, kissing me.
I shrug. “Boring.” Just another day spent sealing his fate.
See what the others have to say!

  1. Oooh, there are so many ways the rest of this story could play out. I'm really curious to see where you'd go with it. Does she end up getting him killed, does she have a change of heart and then need to rescue him? fun fun.

  2. I just love this. I like a character who can stay true to their mission and not get emotionally attached. He's a terrorist; she shouldn't be falling in love with him. I appreciate that she sent the documents.
