Wonhundred Word Wednesdays

Prompt: “No matter what you hear, no matter how badly you want to, do NOT open your eyes.”

“No matter what you hear, no matter how badly you want to, do NOT open your eyes,” Ellie said.
These are words you don’t want to hear while your teenage daughter cuts and colors your hair for cosmetology school—her first time not working on a mannequin.
“You are going to look great, Mom.”
I heard a snip and winced.
An hour later she finished. Bright blue steaks against dyed auburn hair. Choppy, uneven layers.
“What do you think?” Ellie asked.
“Great job, honey. I love it.” What will the senator think when I show up to work on Monday?

See what the others had to say!

  1. Such a nice mom! Pretty sure mine would have freaked out on me if I'd done that. Loved it. Very cute and clever way to take it. 🙂
