For some reason, this week’s prompt was really hard for me. I had a hard time coming up with an idea that could be expressed in only 100 words, and then I had a hard time articulating it. But that’s what I love about these prompts–they present a challenge.
Prompt: And that’s what happens when you follow your heart.
“I had a great night,” she said, fiddling with her purse strap.
“Me too,” he replied. Tomorrow she would fly to Paris and out of his life. He loved her, and she would never know.
“Well, goodbye.” She leaned forward and gave him a quick hug, then slipped inside, closing the door behind her.
He couldn’t let her go. He wrapped on the door before he could change his mind.
She opened it, looking hopeful.
“Don’t go,” he said. “I love you. Please…stay. With me.”
She fell into his arms and kissed him deeply. “I thought you’d never ask.”
