This last week was a total waste. I had intended to finish drafting the small town novella I’m writing just for you! And I got so very close–two chapters from the end. But instead I came down with the flu–like the actual one. I even got a flu shot this year, but of course their protection isn’t 100%.

So I spent 3 entire days in bed (two of them with a fever), and 3 or 4 more days feeling blah and not doing much. But I did watch a lot of TV and sleep tons! I watched all of Virgin River. Have you seen it? It’s a Netflix adaptation of a Robyn Carr series, and I loved it so much! I’m already excited for season 2.

I also had a lot of time to think. And I started wondering–what do readers expect when they pick up one of my books? I’ve also got a fun book recommendation for you this week! I didn’t read much last week because of the flu, so this is a book I haven’t actually read yet. But I have read one of the other books in the series (E is for Engineer) and really enjoyed it! This new Brenna Jacobs book looks like it’ll be just as fun. I’m pretty sure you can read all the books in this series as a stand alone. A society gentleman with a secret. An art expert who can expose him. An attraction neither of them can deny. FIND OUT MORE
